AIM Barleylife Xtra – your ultimate, natural sports drink

AIM BarleyLife® Xtra—your ultimate, natural sports drink

Quench your thirst!” “Boost energy!” “Extreme performance enhancement.” When you walk down the sports drink aisle of your local supermarket, bottle after bottle shouts for your attention. If you “do sports” or even just work out regularly, most likely you have spent some time trying to choose the “right” sports drink for you. How do you choose? Which one is best for you? Have you considered the AIM alternative?

Sports Drinks versus Energy Drinks

Do not confuse energy drinks with sports drinks.
“Energy drinks” are taking the world by storm, especially the world of 13- to 25-year-olds. These tasty, sweet, often caffeine-laden drinks have one purpose—to give the consumer an instant energy boost. Don’t be misled by marketing claims like “contains B6, B12, taurine, ginseng and other natural ingredients.” Although these substances may be in the drink, often the “active” ingredients are caffeine, sugar or a combination of the two. The purpose of these drinks is not health; it is a short-lived energy boost.
Sports drinks are not energy drinks. The purpose of sports drinks is to replenish the body’s fluids, essential minerals and nutrients during and after exercise or events. Terms like, “isotonic,” “hypertonic,” and “hypotonic” define classes of sports drinks. Most commonly used are “isotonic” sports drinks which focus on quickly replenishing carbohydrates and electrolytes lost through sweating during athletic activity. While many sports drinks do provide bona fide benefit for athletes, preventing dehydration and restoring levels of glycogen in the muscle, very few, if any, are from totally natural, whole food sources. Most sports drinks are chemical formulations with little or no true, food value.

The natural, sports drink alternative—AIM BarleyLife® Xtra

Experts agree that three qualities are important in a sports drink.

  • It should replace expended carbohydrates to replenish spent glycogen stores.
  • It should replace electrolytes lost through sweat to maintain electrical firing within cells.
  • It should taste good, so that the athlete continues to drink after thirst is abated for more complete hydration.

AIM BarleyLife® Xtra demonstrates these qualities and much more.

Carbohydrates

Each 6.5 g serving of AIM BarleyLife® Xtra contains 5 g of carbohydrates. The AIM advantage is that these carbohydrates do not come from sucrose. AIM BarleyLife® Xtra provides complex carbohydrates, glucose and fructose occurring naturally in the green barley and other ingredients. These carbohydrates release more evenly during exertion and do not create the energy spike and drop often associated with simple sugars.

Electrolytes

Five key electrolytes are sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus. AIM BarleyLife® Xtra delivers each of these important nutrients in the balance nature intended for more rapid and efficient use by our bodies.

Taste

Until now, the taste of AIM BarleyLife® may not have appealed to our sweet tooth. But, with the great, new cherry-apple flavor of AIM BarleyLife® Xtra, it’s a pleasure to drink—ensuring more thorough hydration.

AIM BarleyLife® Xtra goes the Xtra mile

AIM BarleyLife® Xtra does not stop at just providing the three key qualities of a traditional sports drink. It brings more advantages to the mix.

Protein

AIM BarleyLife® Xtra provides protein on a balanced, easy-to-assimilate level. For years, it was thought that, while protein is important for muscle repair and maintenance, it was not necessary during exertion or helpful during endurance training or events. In the past decade, growing research has shown that a combination of protein and carbohydrates during endurance activities actually produced longer-lasting energy than carbohydrates alone. While the research is still on-going regarding the effectiveness of protein during exercise, it is undisputed that protein is important in the recovery process—rebuilding and restoring muscle.
Research has shown that insulin is most sensitive in the 15 to 20 minutes after exercise. This means the insulin will do its best work in converting carbohydrates into the glycogen your muscles need for energy and in putting the protein to work repairing muscle damage. A drink of AIM BarleyLife® Xtra after exercise will begin the restoration process.

Cost

Sports drinks cost anywhere from $1.00 to $2.00 per serving. AIM BarleyLife® Xtra costs one-third less per serving than the least expensive sports drink on the market.
 Maximum absorption
As a whole food with minimal fiber, AIM BarleyLife® Xtra is absorbed into our system rapidly. Since the nutrients occur in the balance our bodies need to process them efficiently, each of the nutrients is metabolized and absorbed completely with very little waste.

Quality

With AIM BarleyLife® Xtra, you know you are putting premium quality nutrition into your system. You will see the difference in every aspect of your activity, from endurance, to strength, to recovery time.

Pushing your limits?

Try AIM Frame Essentials®

If you are active—walking, running, biking, playing tennis, gardening, climbing mountains or working at physically demanding occupations—your joints are taking a pounding every single day. The cartilage that cushions and enables your joints to move comfortably is being challenged and perhaps even worn away by repeated movement or impact. Wouldn’t it be tremendous to do something now to stop the process of joint degeneration? Wouldn’t it be great 10, 20, 30 or even 40 years from now to enjoy the same (or better) mobility you enjoy today? It’s possible with AIM Frame Essentials®.
Our lifestyles demand “performance”—producing the greatest results human efforts can achieve—with little regard for the consequences of our exertions. We push our limits almost every day, and our amazing bodies rise to the challenge, for a time. But there comes a day when, if we have forgotten to care for those unseen warriors, our joints and cartilage, they will wear out and the quality of our lives will suffer. The combination of two forms of glucosamine, MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) and boswellin extract in AIM Frame Essentials®# can help to maintain proper joint function, rebuild injured cartilage and prevent the damage of every day wear and tear.

Glucosamine

Glucosamine stimulates the production of cartilage-building proteins, helping to maintain our cartilage and replace cartilage that has been worn away through years of use or joint stress. It also aids in the absorption of water in the cartilage to more adequately cushion joint movement. AIM Frame Essentials® contains two forms of glucosamine to ensure that your body will absorb the form that best meets its needs.

MSM

MSM, a biologically active form of sulfur, is similar to that found within the synovial fluids in joints. Research has also shown that MSM enhances the effectiveness of glucosamine to maintain joint flexibility and mobility.

Boswellin extract

Known for centuries for its effectiveness in maintaining healthy joints, boswellia serrata, improves blood supply to the joints. This helps in reducing joint swelling, maintaining mobility and reducing pain due to joint stiffness.
How about you? If you are active, why not employ an ounce of prevention and add AIM Frame Essentials® to your regular nutritional regimen for a healthy, mobile future? If you are suffering from joint pain, give AIM Frame Essentials® the 30 day test. Take two or more AIM Frame Essentials® twice a day for 30 days and see what happens. Your joints will thank you!

A story of cartilage restored

Ron WrightAIM co-owner, Ron Wright has experienced the restoration of damaged cartilage first-hand. At age 14, Ron suffered a very severe hip injury. It took a year to bring his hip function back to near-normal. However, over the years, the cartilage in his hip deteriorated until, by age 69, he was in continual pain. Ron explains, “I found standing and walking difficult and was only getting 1 to 2 hours sleep a night, due to the pain.” Ron sought a sports medicine specialist who told him his hip was basically functioning without cartilage, bone-on-bone, and recommended hip replacement. Not willing to take such drastic measures, Ron turned to the new AIM Frame Essentials® in vegetarian capsules. After two weeks of taking just three capsules per day, Ron realized he was sleeping better and had less pain. He sought a second opinion from another hip specialist. Viewing the new x-ray, the doctor explained, “Mr. Wright, if I had your hip, I wouldn’t have a hip replacement. You have slight bone-on-bone contact on the side, but on the top there is cartilage. It’s getting better!” When Ron showed his doctor the AIM Frame Essentials®, the doctor validated the effectiveness of glucosamine in restoring cartilage. Ron is enjoying greater mobility—without pain—than he has in years.
