Are you getting adequate greens, fiber, and essential fatty acids?

Three deficiencies are absolutely unacceptable for your state of health—a lack of greens, fiber, and essential fatty acids. This deprives your body of life-giving nutrition that can help to ensure good health and longevity by gently detoxifying, balancing your body pH, and combating inflammation. You do not want to be lacking in any of the Daily Essentials™.

This is why AIM offers a variety of cost-effective product combinations that feature
AIM BarleyLife® or AIM BarleyLife® Xtra, AIM Herbal Fiberblend® or AIM FibreBalance®
(CAN), and AIMega®. The Daily Essentials packs provide all-natural, supplementary greens, fiber, and omega-3 and -6 essential fatty acids so that you are never deficient in any of these three nutritive necessities.

Greens

When you supplement your diet with essential greens from BarleyLife, you are going beyond the nutritional value of green vegetables alone. Including chlorophyll,
vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, the wealth of natural nutrients in young barley grass is extracted and made available in a juice powder that is easily absorbed by your body, enriching your cells with unparalleled nutrition.

Fiber

Too many people are fiber-deficient—an open door to health problems. A clean, optimally functioning intestinal tract ensures a strong immune system—around 70 percent of which is in the colon. The fiber in Herbal Fiberblend or FibreBalance helps to maintain a high-fiber intake along with cleansing herbs that not only supports
a healthy digestive tract, but can lower blood sugar, maintain heart health, and lower the risk of death from lung disease and infections.

Omega 3 and 6

If you are not getting omega-3 and -6 essential fatty acids (EFAs), you are literally starving your cells. However, your body cannot make the EFAs required for healthy
cell growth, repair, and energy production. You have to get them from particular foods or through supplementation. AIMega makes it easy to avoid being EFA-deficient.

Supplementing with the Daily Essentials never leaves you lacking.

I feel more energetic, especially from taking BarleyLife. My whole body system functions much better by taking Herbal Fiberblend and AIMega. I sure noticed the
difference when I stopped taking them for a while. My chiropractor reminded me about how good they were for me. I tried them again, and I haven’t looked back since. My husband is taking the BarleyLife as well. I also want to say AIM is always a pleasure to deal with whenever I call in to place orders.

My husband and I have been taking AIM products since 2003, and we’ve used The Daily Essentials for over six years. We’re in our early senior years, and both of us are in good health, even though Gerry had a second knee replacement in April 2012. I had read
about a Member taking therapeutic doses of AIM products before surgery and having
very little pain afterward. So just before knee surgery, Gerry started therapeutic doses of BarleyLife and AIMega and continued post-op. Of course, the hospital staff didn’t want him taking the products, but he got off medication sooner than the previous surgery and recovered far more quickly.

The value of all-natural, vegetable nutrition

April is the month for Earth Day, but any time of year is worth celebrating whole-food nutrition, greens, and natural health.

In order to match the nutritive power of the AIM Garden Trio®, you would need two to three servings of green vegetables to equal a single serving of AIM BarleyLife®. As for concentrated nutrition, it takes twenty-five pounds of carrots to equal one pound of AIM Just Carrots®, and twenty-five pounds of beets to equal one pound AIM RediBeets®.

If all-natural, vegetable nutrition is your aim, then the Garden Trio is the ultimate solution.

The benefits of fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet

Earth Day, observed on April 22 this year, promotes awareness of our natural environment, and AIM represents the finest natural nutrition on our planet. Eating right can make all the difference.

Consider that consumption of fruits and green leafy vegetables has a wide-ranging effect on overall health — everything from a simple boost of energy and well-being to possible reductions of many types of diseases. In fact, an online article from Stanford Medicine maintains that fruits and vegetables containing phytochemicals may deter cancer growth.

Another way of viewing the importance of fruits and vegetables is to examine a diet without them. Those who consume a low amount of fruits and vegetables, especially in proportion to animal protein and bad carbohydrates, run a higher risk of acidosis. An acidic body can result in a variety of ailments: lethargy, respiratory problems, chest pain, bone loss, and more. On top of this, choosing processed foods filled with sugars and additives instead of wholesome, natural choices can lead to diabetes and obesity.

Juicing

Many people who recognize the importance of fruits and vegetables turn to juicing to
ensure they get as much nutrition in their diet as possible. Juicing provides a concentration of nutrients. Juices are ingested and assimilated within fifteen minutes, and this enables the nutrients to be used almost completely for the
nourishment of the cells.

The downside of juicing is the expense in terms of money, time, and effort. A better solution—for money, time, and effort—is AIM concentrates. Simply scoop, stir, and enjoy.

What AIM products have to offer

AIM’s garden of whole-food supplements contains only the best in all-natural, non-GMO ingredients.

BarleyLife is made from young barley leaves, the most nutritious plants on Earth. Of its many benefits, this ideal source of natural vitamins and minerals creates a healthy, alkalizing effect on body pH. BarleyLife contains the alkalizing minerals potassium, calcium, and magnesium, which neutralize acidic materials (accumulated in part from an industrialized diet) and help the body maintain acid-alkaline balance. AIM BarleyLife® Xtra is an additional nutritional option.

Just Carrots, made from 100 percent natural carrot juice, contains 420 percent of the
Recommended Daily Allowance of vitamin A per serving in the form of alpha- and beta-carotene. Vitamin A is a valuable companion to the Healthy Cell Concept™ as it helps
strengthen the immune system and promote cell growth.

RediBeets red beet juice powder counts betaine among its many nutrients. Betaine plays a role in reducing homocysteine levels; high levels of homocysteine often accompany cardiovascular disease.

For the most effective, efficient form of natural, whole-food health, AIM supplements like the Garden Trio provide you with life-giving, plant nutrients from the Earth—every day.

Green nutrition during winter months

Greens burst with nutrients for good health. But in the dead of winter it can be a challenge to find a fresh daily supply, especially for those living in northern climates. It is no wonder that this is the time of year for colds and the flu. Supplemental winter greens are easily at hand with AIM BarleyLife®—full of natural vitamins, minerals, enzymes, chlorophyll, phytonutrients, and antioxidants to keep you healthy throughout all four seasons.

Offering a source of unmatched green nutrition for over thirty years, BarleyLife brims
with the nutritional density available from young barley plants—harvested before the
fields of barley turn to grain. The juice of the grass is gently dried into a powder, allowing
the nutrients to be easily absorbed into the body either dry or mixed in a cool, non-acidic
beverage.

For newcomers to AIM, the idea of getting nutrition from a green powder could seem
unusual. However, there is no easier way to give your body what it needs than with whole-food powders like BarleyLife. With nutrients that go straight into your cells, BarleyLife helps to increase your energy, reduce inflammation, and keep your body pH alkaline—the ideal environment for remaining disease-free.

Even in the coldest weather of the year, BarleyLife keeps you healthy with a juice powder source of winter greens.

As a mom of seven (ages 22, 20, 18, 16, 14, 10 and 7½) and stepmom of three (in their 30s), I am still being told I don’t look old enough to have that many children. This is thanks to the BarleyLife that I have been taking for the last twenty-seven years.”

- Lera Shirley, Royal Emerald Director, Calgary, Alberta

I started taking BarleyLife three years ago after recovering from the flu. My family drinks it now, too. It has made a tremendous difference in our health.

- Lisa Crow, AIM Member, Lufkin, Texas

I always take BarleyLife in the morning with a glass of water. I don’t get flu shots or vaccinations, and I don’t get sick. I remember going on a bus tour. Everyone got colds and were sneezing and coughing, but I didn’t get infected. I was the only one who did not get sick. BarleyLife is really amazing.

Overcoming cancer with AIM BarleyLife

I grew up on a farm and helped my father to grow many vegetables, namely green beans. We plowed, planted, fertilized, and weeded,
helping each seed grow to its fullest potential. By caring for plants and nurturing them to maturity, I would learn that our bodies must be carefully nurtured in much the same way to maintain health and wellness. My passion for health and an interest in the human body led me to become a physical and health educator and coach. My husband, Mike, and I raised three children, Tim, Heidi, and Bryan, all of whom were high-level athletes.

It was around Christmas of 1991 while on a family vacation that the health of our daughter Heidi took a terrible turn for the worse. Her neck started to swell. Within hours, she had a lump the size of a tangerine. We immediately took her to the emergency room. A few days later, we received the diagnosis that Heidi had Hodgkin’s disease—cancer of the lymphatic system—and a sizeable tumor near her thyroid.

It was devastating and unbelievable. Heidi was a sophomore at the academic top of her class at Oregon State University. She was also an amazing dancer and a strong gymnast with the determination of an Olympic athlete. How could she have cancer?

Tears, fear, and darkness seemed to be with us every moment during the next few days. What happens now I wondered? The scripture “They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength” helped calm me.

Knowing the healing power of nutrition, we sought the advice of a naturopathic doctor, in addition to seeing an oncologist. Heidi’s blood work revealed a very extreme phosphorous-calcium ratio, very low iron, and other poor markers. Recommendations were given to stop drinking sodas and increase plant-based foods. I knew we could influence these markers with concentrated plant juices; however, it was highly recommended by the oncologists that Heidi have both radiation and chemotherapy for her cancer. I was silently hoping for no chemo to better protect her body systems for the upcoming challenge, but it needed to be her decision.

It was about five days into the ordeal, at the end of a prayer meeting, when a gentle, male voice spoke quietly, “There are other ways to heal besides chemo you know.” He turned to me and added, “Look into green barley.” He had used the AIM product and was confirming what I already knew about the power of plant juices.

Heidi decided to do only the radiation therapy in conjunction with high-level nutrition to build healthy cells. With God leading the way, and AIM BarleyLife® as her nutritional armor, she set out to gain her health back. Along with giving her barley grass juice powder, we added freshly juiced carrots and beets, omega-3, and AIM FloraFood®, all in mega doses, and nutritionally upgraded her diet.

During the first week, her blood work began to move back towards normal. She was able to continue her radiation on specific tissues
without her blood going into a critical zone. Each week the tumor shrunk dramatically. The oncologist was amazed. Heidi took the winter term off for the therapy and to concentrate on “internally” building her body. Only two and a half months later at her final checkup, the doctor said, “As far as I am concerned, you are healed.” These words will never be forgotten. Today Heidi is fine, fit, a physical therapist, and the mother of three little boys. Thank you, Lord!

I continue to reach out and teach the power of BarleyLife and plant concentrates to those with health issues, as well as to athletes to
upgrade their performances. I have seen many sick bodies become well and athletes build more stamina. Green is golden, especially in the most elite form. Capturing the living “Life” in a powder is most difficult. AIM did it with BarleyLife.

Heidi’s Journey …

The most difficult thing I faced along this journey was actually being given the diagnosis of cancer. Sure, I drank too much diet soda and taxed my body with excessive exercise and minimal sleep, but in my mind I was invincible, after all I was a “healthy”
twenty-year-old college student.

Reflecting back on my walk through cancer, I can honestly say many lessons were learned. I learned to trust God with every aspect of my
life, to balance my passions including exercise, and to treat my body as the temple God has made it to be. To this day, I have a great respect for the human body and its ability to heal itself given the proper nutrition and exercise. I realize that regardless of our age, physical condition, or genetic makeup each of us is susceptible to disease. It is our responsibility to keep our bodies strong so that when faced with disease, we can resist it.

Like my mother, I have a passion to pass this information on to others, BarleyLife® and for me this begins at home. While my three boys are still young, ranging from five to nine years old, I daily instill in them the importance of nutrition. In fact, BarleyLife is the first thing we drink in the morning and the first thing my boys ask for when they start to feel sick. As a mother, that makes me smile. Knowing my boys understand the importance of nutrition at such a young age makes my cancer journey worthwhile.

BarleyLife helps teenager regain her health

ed’s note: Testimony shared by Sarah Byrne, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada

I remember a time when being sick meant having a runny nose or a sore tummy. Now, I see it as something that I had been living in fear of.

I may have looked and acted like a normal teenage girl, but inside, it was a completely different story. Fatigue, extreme cramps, loss of appetite, mood swings, chest pains, migraines, and muscle spasms were normal for me. Imagine having all of these problems, and doctors still tell you that you’re healthy. I don’t know how many times I’ve heard, “Go take some Advil—that should help for a little while.” What they didn’t understand was that I didn’t want just “a
little while,” I wanted long-term good health.

I never understood why everything seemed wrong with me, but according to the doctor, I was a healthy girl. In 2010, at the age of sixteen, I got really sick. It started on my lips as cold sores
that spread to my mouth and then down my throat and stomach. There was pain that I can’t even begin to explain. Along with a temperature of 104, I couldn’t eat, drink, or talk because when I tried, it felt like I was swallowing knives. Sleeping was my only option.

We called the health line and went to doctors, the Urgent Care Center, walk-in clinics, and hospitals. I prayed that I would be given the strength to get through it without any help, but with no food or water, a hospital was where I needed to be. Finally at McMaster Children’s Hospital emergency, where they could not draw my blood because it was too thick, I was rushed into ICU. They told me that if I had waited another day, I probably would’ve died. An infectious disease specialist called me a medical mystery. After
two weeks of IV for nutrition, I was discharged. They said I was better, but I wasn’t better.

It came back in the spring of 2012. I feared the same things would occur and that I would be hospitalized once again. Many medical visits later, they still didn’t know the cause of what had made me fear even the common cold. My mom heard that there was something that would give me the nutrients I needed to help restore unhealthy cells. She called AIM Directors Fred and Marlene Hampshire and asked if we could get AIM BarleyLife® as soon as possible. Fred made a personal visit, giving us what he had left of his own while we waited for our order to make its arrival. I took it immediately.

Because of the sores, I couldn’t swallow, so I swished around the BarleyLife in my mouth to fight off the infection. Within three days after I started swallowing it, I was off my meds and almost completely healthy. Within a week, I was doing gym, homework, and got a grade of 89 percent on my vocals test the day I returned to school.

I’ve come to realize that sometimes we have to be weak to get stronger, and I believe that BarleyLife was a big part of what helped me find my strength. I am grateful that I received it when I did.

Thanks, Fred and Marlene, Edna Smith (Chairman’s Club Director), and the staff at AIM that gave my mother advice. As an eighteen-year-old, I’m thrilled to be able to work at my summer job, play soccer, and no longer be afraid of sickness—even the common cold.

BarleyLife Xtra helped a busy mom turn the corner

Shared by Kyera Reams, AIM Preferred Member, from Osage, Iowa

I’m a mother of four, and my husband is disabled by multiple sclerosis. Health problems, much of which are stress-related, have plagued me my entire life. I have endured sensitive skin that caused eczema, pimples, and little, red spots on my follicles; digestive problems that made me run to the bathroom with no warning; a stomach that used to swell up to the size of a balloon; and a painful gallbladder, which I was told would probably have to be removed.

On top of all of this, from the age of thirteen I have had painful cysts on my ovaries. At one point, I had seventeen cysts on one ovary. I tried a whole slew of homeopathic remedies, but nothing worked.

In the summer of 2002, I fractured my neck in three places in a rollover car accident. My neck has hurt ever since. A couple of years ago, I started to notice arthritic pain in my lower back as a result of a spinal injury and was told that there would probably be more problems arising as I get older. But I could take muscle relaxants and pain medications the rest of my life.

About five years ago, I had to have a colonoscopy because there was a lot of blood loss in my bowel movements. Three different doctors told me essentially the same thing: I had too much stress and should relax.

After my fourth child, my weight started to increase—the first time the weight didn’t come off after giving birth. I’d always had a healthy diet and had never been that heavy. I felt like a bad Mom. “How can I teach my children to eat healthy if I look like this?” I thought. I had no energy to keep up with my baby.

I was also diagnosed with acid reflux, which my doctor said would worsen without medication. About a year ago, my neighbor, AIM Star Sapphire Director Robert Smalley, gave me AIM BarleyLife® Xtra. In February 2012, when I asked about what could help my acid reflux, he told me to take BarleyLife Xtra three times a day, so I did.

BarleyLife Xtra worked the first day on my acid reflux. I kept taking it even though I had detoxification symptoms for about two weeks. In fact, all of my other health problems began to disappear. I started to lose weight, too—eight pounds in the first week. I added AIM Herbal Fiberblend® at this point. By mid-July, I had lost thirty-seven pounds.

I want to thank AIM for providing me with products that improved my health. I started studying to become a health coach as a way to help others to improve their health as well.

Throat cancer and green barley nutrition

Diagnosed with throat cancer at the age of fifty-eight, Valerie Beales had to undergo massive amounts of chemotherapy and thirty-five radiation treatments over a two-year period. The radiation burned her so badly that the skin on her neck was discolored and blistered. It looked so repulsive that before going out, she had to wrap up her neck.

“When we were out in public with my neck all bandaged up, my husband John used to say ‘What if someone thinks I strangled you?’” recollected Valerie. John passed away a week before their fortieth wedding anniversary. “Before he died, he said that he didn’t know why I was still alive. ‘Must be your meanness,’ he would say jokingly.” The radiation also impacted her nervous system. Valerie would sometimes just fall down, for no apparent reason. “I wasn’t functioning well in body or mind.”

Valerie was hospitalized in Cornerbrook, Newfoundland, and eventually had to be fed intravenously. She could not swallow any solid food as her throat and esophagus had also been affected by over-radiation, making them raw and painful. “The doctors put a Vaseline-like cream down my throat to freeze it. I could barely breathe,” recalled Valerie. “I was given Demerol and morphine to ease the pain.”

By April 2012, Valerie weighed only seventy-eight pounds when her brother, Jim Fitzgerald, came for one of his regular visits to her home. Jim was terribly saddened to see his sister so wasted away and drained of energy. He gave her an information sheet about AIM Chairman’s Club Director Janet Pauly and her battle with cancer and asked Valerie if she had ever heard of AIM BarleyLife®. Jim had been buying AIM products for several years from AIM Chairman’s Club Directors Ken and Cheryl Huxter.

After reading about Janet’s health improvement from the nutrient-rich juice powder of young barley plants, Valerie said, “This sounds great.” Her brother had brought along half a canister of BarleyLife hidden in a brown paper bag. But before handing it over, Jim said, “I’m not going to give it to you unless you take it.”

“I could get only bits of food down and thought I was going to die, so I decided to try it,” said Valerie. “But I did have to get used to the taste.” Jim came by every day, always checking up on her and making sure that she was taking BarleyLife, which was beginning to have a positive effect on her health. Along with the nutrients that Valerie so desperately required, BarleyLife’s anti-inflammatory property was like cold water to a thirsty soul by reducing the burning inflammation in her throat and esophagus that had kept her from eating solid food.

Once she started taking BarleyLife, her appetite returned. By June 2012, Valerie had gone through one and a half canisters, and she weighed 103 pounds—a gain of twenty-five pounds within two months. Her brother’s continuing watchdog persistence has paid off healthily. “Before BarleyLife, I couldn’t even walk from the living room to my bedroom. I used to need a cane or walker to get around,” said
Valerie. “Now I could jump over Jim! This is the best I’ve felt since being diagnosed.”

After seeing her deathly ill just a short time ago, Jim told Valerie how excited he was to see her looking so well. One of her doctors also remarked on her improved appearance including the skin on her neck, and, in reply, Valerie mentioned that she had been taking BarleyLife. Life is closer to normal for Valerie these days. With newfound energy, she is back to doing things she enjoys, such as making bread.

Besides the support of her brother Jim, Valerie lives with two of her grandsons, Shane and Griffin, who moved in to be close to her after the death of their grandfather. With a thirteen- and fifteen-year-old under the same roof, life goes on actively for Valerie. Her grandsons have echoed the words of her brother and doctor when they say, “Nana, we’ve never seen you look so good!”

At sixty years old, Valerie looks back at her life, considering some of the factors of her battle with throat cancer. Being a two-packs-a-day smoker is something she could live without. As for the present, Valerie is grateful for having people like her brother and grandsons in her life and the opportunity of simply being around to enjoy life. “I know how good I feel now,” acknowledged Valerie. “I’m impressed with BarleyLife. Maybe it’s given me some more time.”

The best whole-food, supplemental greens

The wealth of nutrients in barley grass makes AIM BarleyLife® the most nutritious whole-food concentrate available in the marketplace. Supplemental greens do not get any better, and one of the many reasons is the presence of chlorophyll with its many beneficial properties, including purification, antiinflammation, and renewal.

Often referred to as plant blood, chlorophyll has a molecular structure that is very similar to that of hemoglobin, the molecule that transports oxygen in the human bloodstream. And so it is fascinating, and perhaps logical, that dark green, leafy vegetables that are rich in chlorophyll, provide so many health benefits for our blood and, therefore, our bodies.

While you should be regularly eating a diet that includes fresh greens, supplementing daily with BarleyLife provides you with another rich source of chlorophyll, which helps to purify and build your blood. In addition to supporting healthy circulation, chlorophyll helps to regulate blood sugar levels, which have a huge effect on your overall health.

One of the most interesting properties of chlorophyll is its ability to bind to toxins, which prevents them from being absorbed into the bloodstream and eliminates the toxins from the body before they can cause any damage. By preventing the absorption of toxins, chlorophyll protects many body systems, including your liver and GI tract.

When you also consider chlorophyll’s antibacterial, anti-fungal, and antioxidant properties, the blood of plants may just be supplemental lifeblood when it comes to staying healthy. And BarleyLife’s wealth of nutrients includes a healthy dose of chlorophyll.

Rhoda and I started taking barley grass juice powder shortly after Dennis and Kay Itami, co-owners of The AIM Companies™, introduced us to BarleyGreen. We began sharing it with relatives and friends before leaving again for the mission field. No matter where we lived — Madagascar, Germany, Hong Kong, China, and Thailand, our present home for the past thirteen years — we consistently took this AIM product, rarely missing a day.

Having served in the Air Force during the Korean War, I am able to have check-ups at the Boise VA Medical Center whenever we’re in the states. After these checkups, I always received comments like, “You sure are healthy!” or “For a person your age, you are exceptionally healthy.” One doctor said I had the best carotid arteries he had ever seen there. After my last blood test, he told me that I had the purest blood he had seen in anyone coming through his section. I told him my wife and I have never been on any medication the last forty-five years, except for aspirin now and then. Rhoda turned eighty-two on May 4, and I’ll be eighty-one on August 9, which is also the date that we’ll celebrate our 56th anniversary.

Thank you, Dennis and Kay, who we still count as dear friends. Thank you, AIM. Thank you, BarleyLife.
